An initial discussion would include specific context of the required text, appropriate letter styles, preferred materials, any decorative elements, finished size of work and the required deadline. The artist will want to gather as much information as possible to enable the creation of a commissioned piece which reflects the clients or recipients tastes. The client may, however, prefer to leave much of the creativity to the artist, which is just as important to gauge at the initial stages of discussion. The artist will then produce a rough proof which will include a pasted up arrangement of text, sketches of designs and any decorative elements. Modifications to the design and layout can be made at this stage and details resolved. There may be a final proofing stage depending on the complexity of the commission. The final piece will be completed at an agreed timescale which will vary on every piece. The cost of each commission is based on an estimation of work time and materials required. Payment is required on receipt of the final artwork.
Quotations are given at no-obligation and prices are offered to suit particular budgets.
Note: There is a minimum charge for one hour's work of £20.
