CALLIGRAPHY CLASSES and MEDIEVAL WORKSHOPS
One to one private tuition available costing £40 for a 2 hour session, at tutor's house. (Only possible outside of Covid 19 restrictions unfortunately).
Classes will be available via Zoom. These will cover all calligraphy scripts and associated decoration and skills with optional projects.
There is also the opportunity of studying medieval writing and illumination using traditional tools and materials at the new Sandwich Medieval Centre at Sandwich Quay. Half and full day workshops will run between April and October and will be bookable online or via email. Dates for workshops will be found on the events timetable of the Centre's website: www.sandwichmedieval.org. (Limited workshops may be possible, dependant on the Covid 19 restrictions).

Adult Calligraphy Workshop and Archives Education Day, 'Scribes and Calligraphy', at Canterbury Cathedral (dates to be confirmed for 2021). Direct booking via Cathedral Archives. Includes talk and archives tour and lunch and workshop on medieval writing with an option of trying a quill.

Pieces will be included in a travelling show by the Society of Scribes and Illuminators in 2021, starting at the Mall Galleries, London. ( Details to be confirmed)

You can purchase hand-cut quills for writing or drawing, from Sandwich seagull feathers. These are packaged with a shell with black gouache. Also, a pack to learn how to illuminate a medieval capital letter with all letters available.
